"Fields Cemetery - This small family cemetery is located in a pasture, east of the old Fields Mill, South of Reger, MO. The old Fields Mills was the second to be established in Sullivan County, 1843-44, owned by Samuel R Fields. It was located in Sec 8, TWP 61, R 20. It was for many years one of the oldest landmarks in Sullivan County. As were other old mills of that day, it was equipped with "two run of Buhrs, one for grinding wheat, the other for corn." There was also a saw for timber, capable of sawing about 1000 ft of lumber/day. Each Buhr was capable of grinding about 5 bushels/hr, but the water wheel which was a 'tub wheel,' could not propell both sets of stones at the same time." NOTES: Also an obit for brother Marion Jacob Fields, who died 20 June 1940. | Fields, John Samuel Lane (I2005)
