The LePage family has been in Jefferson City for about a hundred years. John E LePage, the father of Henry G., was born in Jefferson City, April 4, 1859, in a house which still stands at the southwest corned of St. Mary's Hospital grounds. From reaching manhood to the end of his life, February 25, 1920, he was a plastering contractor. He served as city councilman and as judge of the county court. John E. LePage was married June 14, 1899, to Miss Nathalia C. Henry who was born on a farm east of Jefferson City.

Henry G LePage, county recorder, was born at the eastern edge of Jefferson City 10 Mar 1900. He attended grade school in this city and graduated from high school in 1918. He worked on his father's farm. Father died 1920. Remained on farm until mother elected county recorder in 1926. Before legal age, active in farm organization work and elected sec-treas of Cole Co Farm Bureau 1920 for 6 yrs. Member of Methodist Church, Knights of Pythias and United Commercial Travelers. Served 5 years as Director of Chamber of Commerce and is a director of Jeff City Building and Loan Assn and Pres of Jub City Building and Loan Assn.
