Photos | George Albert Fordham, 1889-1962 My Maternal Grandfather George Albert Fordham was Vet of WWI. He married my grandmother the day he left So. Utah for Fort Lewis Washington in September 1916. He nearly died when his unit was gassed in the trenches they were fighting in with Mustard Gas. He was one seven who survived. He was in an army hospital for several months before returning home to my grandmother. Grandfather suffered the rest of his life from the effects of being gassed. My grandfather was one of the most patriotic men I ever knew. He and grandma had nine children, six of whom were sons. Five of the sons served in WWII and Korea. My grandfather would have a hard time hearing and seeing the changes taking place in our country today!!! Thanks for your service grandpa and lessons of life you have taught me | |
