Henry and Freide Weidman dressed for church Apparently Freide and another woman in her ward got the exact same purple hat she is pictured wearing here. The two got into such an argument about them both wearing the same hat to church that the bishop had to get involved to help resolve the issue.

Home of Henry Weidman in Canada In the Spring Henry's father Heinrich sent him 1,000 to purchase 160 acres of land. Henry acquired this home that was used as a garage and moved it to his newly purchased property. The home only had one room and there were large cracks in the walls. He had no money for a bed so used straw as a mattress boarded off by 1 x 10 boards.

Henry with 3 church members on his mission This photograph was taken just before Henry left his mission in Europe. These three girls came to say goodbye and sang a song. While Henry's companion was taking the picture a young boy whispered to his mother, "Mama come and see the Mormon Minister with his wives!". One of the girls, Freide Wuthrich, became Henry's wife. The other women pictured are Mary Bigler and Anna Roseg. Fredie sang alto and was part of a singing group. On the way to say goodbye to Elder Weidman, Freide wore a pair of new shoes that she had not worn before and got blisters on her feet so she walked a lot of the way without shoes. The boy that shouted at Elder Weidman about these being his wives, actually got baptized later on. Elder Weidman invited them to church after their taunts.
Brothers Henry and Ernest Weidman This photograph was taken shortly after Henry completed his mission. Before returning back to Canada, he spent some time with his family in Switzerland. Ernest became interested in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and gained a testimony. He left Switzerland with Henry. This was hard for their father who relied on Ernest's help.
Henry and Freide Weidman as Newlyweds: 1929 Shortly after completing his log home, Henry tried to find a wife. He began correspondence with Freide Wuthrich who was on the same ship as Henry and Ernest when they left Switerland. They courted for a year, then were married on March 29th, 1929. Edward J. Wood sealed them in the Cardston, Alberta Temple.

Home that Brothers Henry and Ernest Weidman built:1929 After Henry completed his LDS mission in Switzerland and Germany, he returned to Canada with his brother Ernest. The one-room "garage" house had been broken into by railroad workers and had stolen all of Henry's belongings. Henry and Ernest built this new log home on the 160 acres. In the mean time they stayed with Mr. and Mrs. Fehr's.
Henry and Freide's home in Hill Spring, Alberta, Canada This home was built in the winter of 1934 in Hill Spring, Alberta, Canada. This home had two bedrooms upstairs, a front room, kitchen, bathroom and full basement. They used a water tank the railroad company had built while Henry was on his mission for their water. This was a huge upgrade from their previous home that had not bathroom, running water or electricity.
