Fire Bombs Tossed into La Jolla Home
three molotov cocktails were tossed into the La Jolla home of Max M. Lichty, an insurance executive of 2035 Torrey Pines Road last night causing extensive damage to a bedroom, the fire department said.
Battalion Chief Jacobs said the three fire bombs were thrown through the bedroom window and another missile against the fence and a small boat in the yard, starting another fire.
Jacobs said Mr. & Mrs. Lichty were watching television when they heard the bedroom window break about 11 pm. He said there was fire damage to the bedroom and smoke damage throughout the interior of the home.
The molotov cocktails consisted of soft drink bottles containing flamable liquid and a rag wick, Jacobs said.
Officers of the Fire Prevention Bureau went to the home to investigate the incident.
