MALAD--Bessie Crookston Thomas, 79, died March 13, 1984, at her home.

She was born May 17, 1904 in Hyrum, a daughter of David Crookston and Mima Amelia Hartvigsen Crookston. She married William E. Thomas of Malad June 5, 1935, in Brigham City.

She spent her early years in Hyrum, and attended public schools there. She was an excellent cook and homemaker. Church and served as a visiting teacher, a Primary teacher, and choir member.
Surviving are her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Don (Eileen) Aste, San Carlos, California; one brother, Jess Crookston, Hyrum, Utah; one sister, Helen C. Jensen, Sunshine Terrace, Logan, Utah; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at noon in the Malad 1st Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Benson-Horsley Mortuary in Malad Friday from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday after 10 a.m.
