"A Song, Called Crawford's Defeat by the Indians"
American folk ballad written about 1791 by Dr John Knight, survivor of the 1782 Crawford Expedition.
"There was brave Captain Hogland I will not go past,
He fought it out bravely while the battle did last;
But on his retreat till a fire did go,
What came of him after we never could know."
