1803 Will of Jacob Sink

Passyunk, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 10 January 1803

Jacob Sink was a yeoman. His wife: Catharine Sink, late Ohler.

"As my present wife Catharine Sink, late Ohler, has been a great Trouble and expence to me since our unfortunate Marriage I conceive that in Justice & equity She ought not to have or claim any Dower or part of my Estate whatsoever. But as the Laws of my Country entitles a Widow who then deserving or not to her dower or thirds in the Real Estate of her deceased Husband Therefore as I cannot well do otherwise I will & direct that she my said Wife Catharine Shall have and Receive during the Term of her natural life the one third part only of the neat clear Rents & Income of my Lands and Tenements after all Taxes and necessary Repairs & Charges first deducted and paid."
