A Brief History of Mary Ann Harper Noble
In the spring of 1862, this family went by rail and river boat to Florence, Nebraska where a company was being equipped to cross the plains by ox team. While waiting here they had all their belongings burned except one trunk. Under the circumstances, this was a severe loss, but having firm unshaken faith in the gospel, and full of confidence in the protecting care of our Heavenly Father, they left Florence, Nebraska with the rest of the company early in the summer of 1862, arriving in Salt Lake City, 17 October 1862, with the Henry W. Miller Company, walking the whole distance.
