Frederick Lubbertsen had come from Amsterdam, Holland with his daughter, Rebecca and wife Stynje Jans, Lubbertsen, who was born about 1603 seems to have come to New Netherland as a Sailor, as did
Cors Pietersen. He is recorded as the chief boatswain to Director Kieft in 1638, and probably had been a
citizen of New Amsterdam several years prior to that. Apparently Lubberts wife Styntje had died by 1657, for two years after Cors Pietersendiedin 1655, his wife Tryntje Hendricks md. Frederick Lubberts.

Frederick Lubbertsen, born about 1603 in Amsterdam, was engaged ot the widow Tyntje Hendrickse. These were the minutes of the Ophanmasters of New Amsterdam, translated by the Colonial Dames of New York.
"Whereas Tryntje Hendrickse, widow of Cors Pietersen, intends to become the wife of Fredrick Lubbertsen, widower of Styntje Hendrickse, and whereas said Tryntje has three infant children by Cors Pietersen, and wishes before marriage to settle upon said children their paternal inheritance, so, that when they come of age or marry they may receive what is due them (Ophanmasters appoint guardians for children).
"Today the 19th of Sept. 1657 appeared before me (Notary Public & witnesses named) the virtuous Tryntje Hendrickse, widow of Cors Pietersen, assisted by Fredrick, her present fiance...said Tryntje Hendricks shall be held and promises honestly to bring up her said three children (named, ages 12, 6, & 3) as well as she can, to have them taught reading, writing and a good trade or occupation, so that in time to come they may earn their own living, further to instruct them in the fear of the Lord and in religious exercises and to do all, a good mother is bound to do, until said children shall come of age or marry, then she shall give to each child the sum of 600 fl. and shall furnish to each a good parcel of clothing, 6 shirts, 6 _, 6 hankerchiefs...signed Tryntje Hendricks
First wife: Styntje Hendrickse 1607-1654 married about 1627 in the Netherlands (she is in our line-daughter: Rebecca Lubberts Frederickse, wife of Jacob van der Grift-see van der Grift bio)
Second wife: Tryntje Hendrickse 1612-1690 married 17 Aug 1657 in New Amsterdam (wives were sisters)
Marriage in Aug 1657 stated at the bottom is in conflict with their relationship being described as fiance on 19th Sept 1657

We do not know for sure the dates of Fredrick Lubbertsen, except that in 1664 he stated that he was 55 years old, which would put his birthdate at about 1609. His will was dated 1679, and in 1680 his daughter Rebecca protested unfair treatment in that will, (as he had left his Breukelen farms to his two daughters by his second wife), so his death must have occurred around 1680. He was already married to Styntje Jansen when he started working for the West India Company around 1633, and their daughter Rebecca had surely already been born, as she was old enough to marry Jacob Leendertsen van der Grift in 1648. (Holland documents give a baptism date for Rebecca as 1628.) His wife and daughter had joined him in New Amsterdam around 1640. The spelling of his name varies, it is sometimes Fredrick, sometimes Frederick, sometimes Ffredrik, and Lubbertsen appears also as Lubbers and Lubberts. (He signed his name often as "Frerick Lubbertsen".) When Lubbertsen's daughter Elsje married Jacob Hansen Bergen in 1677 she signed the register as Eelsjen Fredericks vander Kreest, so perhaps Lubbertsen's family name was vander Kreest His wife's name Styntje is a nickname for Christina. She presumably came from Naerden, as her brother was called Claes Jansen van Naerden. (The proper name for her brother is Claes Jansen de Ruyter, who came from Naarden. Naarden is about 15 miles east of Amsterdam.)
Age given as 55 in 1664 would put his birth about 1609, meaning marriage at age 18 in 1627, which seems to early. Given that people didn't really keep very good track of their age in those days, the earlier estimate of 1603 seems more appropriate.
