      "Mrs Emily Eads, wife of Rev A. Eads, died Wednesday at the home on Fourth Street. Mrs Eads was born in Kent, England and was 68 years of age. She was married to Mr Eads on 24 Aug 1874. They have resided in this city for a number of years. Mrs Eads was well known all over Oregon and points in Washington and Idaho, as her husband, Rev A Eads is one of the pioneered Methodist ministers of these areas and preached in Oregon in the early days. The funeral was held from the LaGrande Methodist church Friday afternoon."
