Found 100th birthday article in 2011, (mygatewaynews.com) AURORA CO - Irene Hartfield was born in Spring Lake, Wisconsin on June 6 , 1911 to August and Ida "Bates" Hartfield. She was raised in Elmwood Wis consin and was a 1929 graduate of Elmwood High school . She married Neil Hamilton of Elmwood on May 17, 1933, and they worked wit h Neil's father Roolan on his Elmwood dairy farm. Neil and Irene sold th e farm around 1955 and moved to South St. Paul to be closer to Neil's mot her and father who had moved earlier to St. Paul. Neil passed away in Jul y 1970 and she married Clayton Bueling of Elmwood in 1974. Clayton passe d away in 1979. Since August of 1998 Irene has been living in Aurora Colorado with her da ughter Dixie Jacobsen. Some of Irene's relatives who still live in the Elmwood area are: Bill an d Jean Hartfield of Centuria, Elizabeth Hartfield Anderson of Hager City , Clark and Evelyn Holt of Elmwood, Tom Lewis of Plum City, Sally Perkin s Plum City, Julie Perkins Moritz of Menomonie .
