Roy Cook Lichty 1881-1945 5 December 1926 - San Diego Union $100,00 Paid for Property on B Street Purchase of Corner at 10th by Roy C. Lichty, 2nd Important Sale of Realty in Area Within Week Sale of the Northeast corner on 10th and B Street by Roy C. Lichty for $100,000 was announced yesterday by the Union Title Insurance Company. The property was purchased from Tillie Jacobs by Thomas Paxton, sales manager of Roy C. Lichty organization for Talmadge Park. The property which faces 100 ft. on 10th and 100 ft on B Street at present houses an automobile sales office and a large garage. The building is a one-story modern stucco structure. Although Mr. Lichty has announced that his purchase was made strictly as an investment, it is generally understood in realty circles that an important development is planned for the property in line with the general progress along C and B and Broadway east to twelfth streets. Considerable significance is attached to the purchase, especially since is follows the sale of the southwest corner of eighth and B Streets Friday. This property was sold by C. D. H. B. and Chas. C. Hawks to the California Land Buyers syndicate for a consideration reported to be $100,000. Lichty has been prominently identified with a number of local real estate developments in addition to Talmadge Park. He came here about the same time as John P. Mills entered the local real estate field and the two former Los Angeles operators have been credited with much of San Diego's success in attracting northern capital to the city's advantages. | ||
