1987 HIST: Dec 1987 letter from Gloria Ranck:"Ray was admitted to the hospital on Nov. 10th... has had 4 different Dr's opinions... started chemo-therapy & is back to work & jogging... The biopsy indicates the tumor to be Hodgkins disease, which Dr's have consistently told us 'It's a good disease to have. It has been one of cancer's triumphs & has been curable for the past 20 yrs.' But no matter what they said.., I remained in a state of shock & depression, making many trips to the library... what the Dr's were telling us was all confirmed...It also pointed out that my reactions, tears, shock & depression were quite normal. Since then I slowly started coming back & began sleeping & eating better..."
