1889 Marriage License of Allen Taylor and Phebe Ann Roberts Although Allen and Phebe were legally married on March 27th, 1857, it seems that they were remarried on November 15th, 1889. With the ending of plural marriage on the horizon (Manifesto dated October 6, 1890), perhaps this is the reason for their re-marrying. *"On their own initiative, some couples separated or divorced as a result of the Manifesto; other husbands stopped cohabiting with all but one of their wives but continued to provide financial and emotional support to all dependents."
