1896 WILL: PA,Sullivan Co-LaPorte Twp: I Peter Gavitt of the Twp of Laporte Co of Sullivan and State of PA...this my last will & testament in manner and form following:
1. ...all my just debt and funeral expenses be fully paid and satified by my Executor...
2. I give devise & bequeath unto my beloved wife, Eliza Jane Gavitt, all my property real personal & mixed for her
use during her natural life.
3. I give... to my daughter Polly, intermarried with E J Messenger the sum of One hundred dollars
4. I give... to my daughter Louisa, intermarried with Trouteman Simmons the sum of One hundred dollars.
5. I give... to my daughter Ruby, intermarried with W. Joins the sum of One hundred dollars.
6. I give... to my daughter Jane, intermarried with J. W. Buck, the sum of One hundred dollars.
In as much as my son Lee R Gavitt has already received his full share of my estate by deed for the land upon which he now resides, and in consideration of said deed for said land, I direct that he pay to my daughters above named the sum of Twenty five dollars each as a part of the sum bequeathed to them after the death of myself and my wife. This being a modification of the sum he was bound to pay to the above named of my heairs by agreement stated March 26, 1889 wherein he was bound to pay the said heirs the sum of fifty dollars each.
7. I give... to my son Morgan Gavitt after the death of my beloved wife all my estate real personal and mixed and to
his heirs and assigns forever subject to the payment of the sum of Seventy-five dollars to my four daughter above
named.
And lastly I herely nominate constitute & appoint my son Lee R Gavitt Executor of this my last will & testament & hereby revoke any & all wills by me at anytime heretofore made & declare to be my last will & testament.
