Obituary of "Larry" Swain of St. Anthony, Idaho Lawrence Swain Larry Lawrence R. Swain 82, died at his home June 14, 2005, from natural causes. Mr. Swain was born March 11, 1923 in Vernal Utah the son of Frank E. and Bessie Swope Swain. He grew up in Vernal where he attended school graduating from Unitah High School. During World War II he joined the U.S. Army. He received two Purple Hearts, 2 Bronze Stars, and a Silver Star. He lived several places before moving to St. Anthony in l976 because of the Teton Dam disaster. He and his wife Nancy continued to live in St. Anthony. She died in 2002. Larry was a member of the Shriners organization and was a 32 degree Mason. He helped take many children to the hospital in Salt Lake City. He was a active member of the St. Anthony VFW He was active in many local service projects and civic affairs. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the great outdoors. He is survived by two daughters Sunny Merrill, Provo; and Jacquie Stratton, Sandy, Three brothers Russell of Salt Lake City, Michael of Copperton; and Jeff of South Jordan. Preceded in death by four siblings, Glenn, Loran, Robert and Lewana. As per Larry's request he will be cremated with no formal services held.
