He stood for the best things in life and was always willing to extend aid to those in need. He was the first of six sons. John was a good farmer and also raised horses, cattle and hogs. He enjoyed life and enjoyed his brothers coming to play cards in the evenings. An accident claimed the life of John Darst at the age of 51. An excited horse he was tending crushed him against the side of the barn and he could not overcome his injuries. 1923 DEATH,BURIAL: MO,Carroll Co-Ridge Twp: John Darst Thurlo died 1 August 1923 after horse crushed him; buried Big Creek Cemetery, Bosworth,Carroll Co MO.
