CLELL HENRY BATEMAN
Clell Henry Bateman, 87, died February 23, 1997 at home in Salt Lake City.
Born July 22, 1909 in Murray, Utah, son of Royal James and Maud Elizabeth Brown Bateman. Married Lucy Margaret Edwards; she preceded him in death August 25, 1962. Married Lois Elizabeth Barlow August 28, 1964 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He served as Elders Quorum President, Bishop, Member of the Cannon Stake High Council for 12 years, High Priest Group Leader, Home Teacher, Sunday School President and Ward Employment Specialist.
Survived by wife, Lois; daughter, Marietta (Gary S.) Williams, Orem; sons, David Bateman, Salt Lake; Daryl (Traci) Bateman, Taylorsville; four grandchildren, Alecia (Ronn) Raymond, Provo; Kristin (Mike) Pierce, American Fork; Chelsa (Brad) Hansen, Provo; Merrick Williams, St. Paul, Minnesota; five great grandsons; brothers, Alden Bateman, Taylorsville; Wayne (Fern) Bateman, Boise, Idaho; sisters, Melba (Glen) Bair, San Diego, California; Dorothy (Lyle) Hurst, San Diego, California; Leila Revo, Eckert, Colorado. Preceded in death by parents, sister, Grace Johnson Christensen; brother, Kenneth Bateman.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, 12 p.m. at the Cannon 4th Ward, 1301 South 1200 West. Friends may call Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Homes, 4330 South Redwood Road and Thursday at the church one hour prior to services. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
