Obituary: Mrs. Clara Alma Matson
Mrs. Clara Alma Matson was born Dec. 8, 1856, at Kene, O. She was the daughter of Joshua and Sarah Stewart and was the oldest of seven children.
Mrs. Matson came to Nebraska with her parents when she was 12. The family homesteaded in Cass county in 1869.
Mrs. Matson died in Lincoln Oct. 17 at the age of 92. Preceding her in death were her husband, Henry, and a daughter, Verna Stewart Dane, who died in 1914.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Frank Williams of Lincoln; two nephews, Lee Stewart of Eagle and Roy Stewart of Ashland; a grandson in Los Angeles; two great-grandchildren and four grand nieces.
The funeral was Oct. 23 at Roper & Sons and burial was in Elmwood cemetery.
