Bef 1810 DEATH: George Gavitt died sometime before 20 October 1810, when his widow remarried.

1816 PROBATE: RI Vital Rcds, Washington Co Births from Probate Records Vol 4 pg 135: "GAVITT, George, 2d, Capt. had widow Rhoda and children Ezekiel, Amy & William mpr 21 Mar 1816 We 2B:152."
RI Genealogical Register Vol 9 pg 49 (Abstracts of Westerly Wills): "Pgs 152-155,226-227. 21 Mar 1816. Rhoda Gavit widow of Capt George GAVIT late of We dec appted admx of his estate. It was stated that Ezekiel Gavit, Amey Babcock widow of Isaac Babcock late of Groton [CT?] dec the said Amey now living in a distant country, and William Gavit who resides in Ohio are the sole heirs of the estate of George Gavit dec. Rhoda late widow of George Gavit dec later became the wife of Nathan Pendleton."

George married Rhoda Babcock 31 Mar 1788, Westerly, Washington, Rhode Island, United States. Rhoda was born Abt 1768; died Yes, date unknown. [Group Sheet]
