1914 BIRTH: OR,Umatilla Co-Pilot Rock, Eldon Monroe Michael was born October 16, 1914 on family ranch on Little McKay Creek east of Pilot Rock, to Charles A & Ethel Shafer Michael. Called Mike.

1932 HIST: OR,Umatilla Co-Pilot Rock: Graduated from high school in 1932.

HIST: Cowboy & rancher & until md Crystal Horn 1937, worked as cowboy for Tony Vey in Grande Ronde River & Butter Crk areas. During this time developed reputation as bronc buster & rode bucking horses at Pendleton Round-up.

1937 MARRIAGE #1: Eldon married Crystal Louise Horn in 1937, no place shown.

HIST-EMPLOYMENT: Worked with Kerns Co, building sawmill in Pilot Rock, later a sawyer & mill wright. Started local garbage service, operated a septic tank cleaning service, owned local McCulloch chain saw dealership, continued to repair saws & lawn mowers until died. He employed many of nephews on garbage route & in saw shop.
Enjoyed hunting & outdoors, a heritage he passed on to his friends & fam thru stories of adventures & those other characters from the area. Member of BPOE 288, Good Sams Club, Frontier Cowboys Assn.
