Pay my sons Frederick A Gavitt and Homer Gavitt $25,000 and appoint my son's trustees of said sum to invest in first lien or liens upon good real estate that shall be ample, sufficient security for the same and pay the interest thereof annually to my said niece, Ida Gavitt, for her support and maintenance during her life and after her decease, they shall pay same money towit: $25,000 to F A Gavitt and Homer Gavitt, my sons and to Clementine, my daughter or to their heirs share and share alike.
    All the rest... bequeath to sons FA Gavitt and Homer Gavitt and daughter Clementine Gavitt, share and share alike.
    And if either son or daughter die before my decease, leaving no issue, survivor of said children shall take the whole -- but if either of ... die during my lifetime, leaving issue to survive them, then such issue to take such part as the parent would take if living.
    In the event of the death of Peter Gavitt or Temperance Stone or Nancy Reynolds or Thankful Conklin or Mary Rosengrant during my lifetime, then I direct the sum hereby given to either of them to be paid to my children or their heirs, share and share alike.
    I hereby make the following change to item 13 - towit: The sum of $25,000 directed to be paid to my trustees, I hereby increase to $30,000 -- to be invested as above set forth and the interest to Ida Gavitt annually during her lifetime and after her death to be paid and distributed as above set forth.
