The oldest has 2 boys and one girl and is living in Japan. The next one lives here and has 3 boys. The younger lives at Vallejo and has 2 boys. Claude's 2nd girl who lives here lost her husband the 4th of Dec. sudden heart attack. Died on his engine coming down the Mt."
    June 1954 letter from Elsie Johnson Hosmer to Mary Marks doc #58: "We have a daughter living at Vallejo and visit her and Ray Cox about twice a year... Elsie's address-"Mrs C.O. Hosmer, 1308 Jefferson Street, Eugene Ore.... He [Claude Hosmer] is a retired Locomotive Engineer."

    1955 HIST: March 1955 letter in Eads box from Mary Gray Marks to Chester Asbury Eads, living in Baker, Oregon, doc #70: "...Elsie still lives there [Eugene], was married to a RR engineer, they had 2 sons, then her husband died. Later she married another RR engineer and they found out where I lived from another cousin, one of Aunt Eletha Pearson's son's children..."

    2. Oct 1954 letter from Elsie Hosmer to Mary Marks doc#60: "There is a girl living here by the name of Dorothy Kathleen Eads. I contacted her, she came over & looked at the book, wanted to copy but I told her it wasn't mine. She is from Kentucky, didn't recognize anything that might connect the families. But is only starting to hunt up history for their family. She is working at the University, said she thot she wd like one of the books, said before her grfthr did, spelled it Eades but dropped last e. She is young, her fam Babtists, no link with James Buchanon Eads."

Guess he received it. She told Austa you had their history.
    My own: did I ever answer your questions about my own family-3 boys & 1 girl. One in Arizona- Caroline VanBuskirk-605 N 11th Ave, Phoenix. List-not know what mean: Maud & Bob, Emily (Pearson) McCullock, Everett - children, Wm Thomas Burton, Dallas... at bottom of note[in Mary's hand]: Evelyn Eads dau: Mrs R W Langenback, S520 Carnahan St, Spokane WA. The a date: Mch 1876"

    didn't know anything about any Dorothy.
    2 - ...& this Chester Fisher. You didn't say where he lived, this clipping you sent was Stanford not U.
    O. [University of Oregon] There are no Chester Fishers in the phone book.
    3 - What relations were the Gilliams to us? There are non in the phone book here. Yrs ago there
    was a girl went to school at Albany with my first sister-in-law from out around Roseburg some
    place - she should be around 68 yrs old. I forgot her first name. There are no Gilliams in the
    Roseburg phone book that I have - it's not a late one...
