- I, Michael Stonehocker, of the county of Coshocton, in the state of Ohio, do make and publish my last Will and Testament.
First, it is my will that all my just debts be fully paid and that after my death I be decently buried and a suitable plain gravestone erected at my grave in memory of me.
Secondly: I give and devise to my beloved wife Susan Stonehocker, all my estate both real and personal of every description and especially my four lots in the town of Lewisville, in the county of Coshocton, in the State of Ohio numbered 150, 151, 153 with the privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging- my said wife to have, hold and enjoy all said real estate for and during her natural life
Third: I give and devise John Lawrence, son of my said wife all my personal property of every description that may be unconsumed at the death of my said wife, and at her death, all the real estate of every description including the town lots above mentioned, to him and his heirs and assigns forever. It being expressly understood that this devise is made to the said John Lawrence, on condition that he takes care of and out of said property provides for myself and his said mother, during our lives. This devise and gift being intended so far as we are able to compensate him for his kindness and affectionate care of myself and his mother.
Fourth: I hereby appoint my stepson John Lawrence Executor of this my last Will and Testament. It is my will and devise that no appraisement or sale of my personal estate be made, but that my Executor and my beloved wife pay off my debts as soon as possible for them and that the property be kept together as much as possible according to her desire for her support. Should it become necessary to sell any part of my real estate for the support of my wife or to pay my debts, I hereby authorize my Executor to sell the same with the consent of my said wife, on such terms as he may deem best, and deeds to purchasers to execute for the same.
In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twelfth day of May A.D. 1859.
