Sidney Wollerton in Orphan's Court
After Sidney father died, William (her brother) was left in charge of the estate. William petitioned the court on 15 December 1795 for a guardian for his sister and then became her legal guardian. The record states that she was over fourteen years of age but still a minor.

A Petition from William Wollerton of John Wollerton's Estate
William is petitioning the court concerning his father's estate of 185 acres. Thomas Spikeman, James Wollerton, "and others" believe themselves entitled to a distributive share of the land. Dated 15 December 1795.

The Division or Valuation Notice of the Estate of John Wollerton
John Wollerton died intestate, without a will, leaving a considerable estate for his family. These documents are directing "twelve Good and Lawfull men" to contact each of the heirs of John's estate. They were to determine if the estate was to be divided equally, with William getting two eights, or if the heirs wanted to sell everything and distribute the remaining funds. The finding was that the estate was to be sold. Dated 2 January 1796.

1830 US Federal Census and the Family of William Wollerton
William and his family are living in Uwchlan, Chester, Pennsylvania. There are six people in the family along with two free colored persons. There are a man and two women between the ages of 60 and 69; a male and a female between the ages of 20 and 29; one male between 15 and 19 years of age. Both of the free colored persons, one male and one female, are between 10 and 23 years of age.

"History of the Chain of Title"--Tracing the Wollerton Family Lands in Chester County, Pennsylvania
Estelle Cremers of Pottstown, PA brought together this impressive paper of the Historical Land Research of the Chain of Title for lands that the Wollerton family owned in Chester County. It traces the first known owners in the 1600's and goes through to 1920. She attempts to unravel all of the Williams, James, and Zibas in the Wollerton line.
There are very few conflicting finds such as the guardianship of the children of James Wollerton who died in 1820. Court documents attached to this family on My Family Online state that Mary, Moses, John, Ziba, and Sarah were given guardianship by George Mechem? and Anthony Gray. She says that court documents appointed William Newlin, Charles Wollerton and Eli Shugart guardians in 1821. This researcher has not found these court records as of yet so will leave things as they are for now.
