"Elizabeth Polley was born in Davis County, Kentucky, Jan 20, 1848, and d eparted this life on 20 Oct 1923. She was a daughter of Woodford and Luc y Brown Polly, and was one of a family of seven children. She was unite d in marriage to Martin Deffenbacher at Pinckneyville, Ills., in 1865; t o this union five children were born, four having preceded her to the gre at beyond. She was married twice, her second marriage to Charles Donnie o f Chester, Ills., in 1889. No children were born to this union. Mr. Donn ie passed away Feb 1923. she leaves to mourn her lone daughter, Mrs. Marg aret Davis, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two brother s and one sister- Jefferson Polley of Sesser, Ills, Robert Polleyand Mrs . W. B. Massey of C?yd?, KY. Funeral services were at the Presbytrian Chu rch in Cuba. Oct 22, 1923at 2:30pm.
