11 7 92: Talked to Mrs Edna McQuitty Hazard, sister to Joel McQuitty, Jr, 1 314 442 6399, 1408 Business Loop 70 W, Box 84, Columbia MO 65202. She has done some genealogy but it is in store room of apartment in basement. May not be able to get to it very soon, but I will send sheets on what I have and she will send me what she has. Catch her best before 1 pm or after 7 pm. Joel Jr doesn't
know much but number is 1 314 874 5835, also Columbia. She says there was a newspaper in Rocheport and Fayette before there was any in Columbia. She has spent last 10 years restoring Walnut Grove Cemetery, where her great grandfather, Andrew McQuitty was buried. The cemetery is about 7-8 miles west of Columbia, 3 miles south of Woodlandville, near Midway. She spoke of a W M Paul in Kilawee MO who has done genealogy on McQuittys. Mr Hegstead was man I spoke to across from New Providence Church and Cem that put me in touch with the Holts and Joel McQuitty. Mrs Joel McQuitty is a Payne. McQuitty's gave land to Church were New Providence is now.
