  The Children of Sarah Cloud Woodward in Orphan Court When Sarah's father Mordecai left her four daughters money in his will, their father James had to go to Orphan Court to seek guardianship of Elizabeth and Rebecca's inheritance. According to the court records, they were under the age of fourteen at this time, 1819. Rachel and Jane Woodward were above the age of fourteen and they were requesting that the court permit them to make their own choice of a guardian to take care of their portion of the inheritance.
