Carl David Swenson was born in Millville, the son of Ola and Margaret Bickmore Swenson. He attended local schools.
On June 24, 1936, he married Delores Newbrand, and they were later divorced.
He then married Aurella Nielsen on September 12, 1966.
They made their home in Tooele. He worked for twenty-three years as a nursing assistant at the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City. He was active in the LDS Church and was a member of the Tooele Senior Citizens Center.
Children of Carl and Delores are: Jay C, Bryan, Nadine S. Gibby, Diane S. Dykstra, Greg and Christopher. Stepchildren are: Janice Duff, Veldon McBride and James McBride.
