1837 Declaration of Intention to Naturalize for Augustus Siegfried
    Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania

    25 December 1837
Court of Common Pleas, Schuylkill County

Augustus Siegfried, a native of Leiberstung, Baden
now a resident of Schuylkill County, 30 years old
declared his intention to become a citizen of the United States on 25 Dec 1837.

It is important to note that this record, from Schuylkill Co., PA was found in Dubuque Co., IA Intent to Naturalize records.

For the Dubuque County Court to have this Pennsylvania record, Augustus must have turned over his original paperwork to the court in Iowa.
This proves that Augustus continued the naturalization process after he migrated to Iowa, although it is not clear if he actually became a Citizen before his death in 1849.
