Thomas was born 2 October 1838 in Chapel Hill, Orange County, North Carolina, the seventh child of Thomas Durham Fausett (6-15) and Anne Durham. On 15 September 1867 he married Laura B. King in Orange County. Laura was born in 1848 in North Caroolina, the daughter of Turner and Mary King. Thomas and Laura had three children: Lila P. (8-221), born in 1862; Allie W. (8-222), born in 1869; and Malry (8-223), born in 1878. All three children were born in North Carolina. Thomas died 10 April 1882.
