The father of John E. LePage was born May 28, 1818, at LeMans, France, and came to the United States in 1838. He was a stone mason and a plasterer by occupation. He married Elizabeth Jane Ross in Jefferson City and lived here until his death in 1885. His wife was born at Jeffersonville, Indiana, July 10, 1833, came to Cole County in 1843 and died May 30, 1916.
