Morton's History lists two children for Benami and Mary C. Armstrong, Azariah and George. In The New History of Highland County., Nancy D. and Robert Azariah are listed, but not George. Six other children are listed in the Samuel E. Armstrong Family Bible and other information was given to me by Richard L. Armstrong a descendant of Benami's. Along with his brothers Benami and Mary were deeded 286 acres of land on Bull Pasture Mountain, byb his parents (for which they paid $1.00) and signed the bill of sale when the land was sold to Samuel C. Eagle. On 1/10/1880 Benami signed the paper which deeded his share of his fathers land on Shaws Fork to his brother John E. Armstrong.

Benami and Mary were married in the home of her father by the Reverend John T. Tobler(on record in Clerk's office, Monterey, Va.)JHA2003.

The Samuel E. Armstrong Family Bible Says: "Record of Jareds Children", and lists; Robert and Barbara. An Unnamed Infant, was added by a family member. Jared served in the Confederate Army, 25th Regiment, Company F, and was killed at the Battle of Cross Keys in March of 1862. Pendleton Co. Marriage Book 12 says Jared was 23 and Sabina was 21 when they were married by Rev. Noah Snyder.

When the heirs of Samuel E. Armstrong signed the paper which had their share of their fathers land on Shaw's Fork deeded to brother John E. Armstrong, it was signed by P.F. Lamb. Did the "P.F." stand for Palmyra or her husband Peter?

Descendants: "Abt 1866, Silas and his brother Henry Harrison (Hank) went to Carroll County, MO and bought what is now known as the Kinnaman Farm. The two brothers built a house on the property and returned to Sullivan to move Silas' family to their new home. The family; Silas, wife Ann, and daughters Amanda and Belle made the move in a covered wagon. Silas' younger brother, Columbus, may have accompanied them, returning because of his
wife's objections to the "new country.
A short time later, Silas and Hank sold that farm to the Kinnamans... and bought another farm on the nearby "Prairie." This farm is known as the Thurlo Farm. Hank later married and the brothers divided the 160 acres into 2-80 acre farms.
Life around their home was pleasant. Silas demanded respect from his children and taught them to be resourceful and to carry out their ambitions. Everyone had a special project for the summers when school was out.
Ann said she enjoyed the prairie country except when she needed a switch to correct one of the children. Silas planted a grove of Sugar Maple trees, which grew to provide the switches, as well as sweets for the family later. That grove is still reported to be there..."
