I was then well Gavit of the town of Westerly, which took place sometime in the year 1780, the month I cannot now recall, but I am sure said marriage took place sometime in the year 1780. I well remember that they were married by Joseph Crandall, a Justice of the Peace for the County of Washington and I further depose and say that I well remember that the said Isaac Babcock was in the Service and served in the war of the Revolution as a private soldier for a considerable amount of time after his marriage to the said Amy - Gavitt aforesaid. I further depose and say that the aforesaid Isaac Babcock died in the town of Groton about 26 years ago and that his widow Amy Babcock has remained a widow ever since the decease of her husband.
