    Funeral services for Mrs Sarah Ellen (ZT) Sperry, almost 90 years, be today (Thurs,22 May) from United Brethren Church in Edmond 2 p.m. Mrs Sperry died suddenly in her home 5pm Tues am.

    Mrs Sperry bn 31 May 1857 Berwick PA. Came to KS as young woman, res in Mitchell & Clay Co for short time bef coming to this section-res for 69 yrs. Mr & Mrs Sperry lived in northern Graham Co until 1919 when moved into Edmond. Mr Sperry died there in 1919.
    Mrs Sperry was mother of 8 children, 2 of whom preceded her in death-1 son,1 dau. Surviving: Edna & Earl-KC, Harry & Alva of Edmond, Roy of Caldwell ID, Frank of Stockon KS.

Her parents were Andrew and Rebecca Michael. She moved with her parents to a farm near LaPorte PA when she was 12 yrs old. On Feb 11, 1875, she was united in marriage to Zachary Taylor Sperry, of LaPorte. To this union was born eight children. Her husband predeceased her on Jan 15 1926; also two children: Edith and Ralph, both of whom died in infancy. Surviving children are: Frank W Ssperry-Stockton KS; Aalvia E and Harrison C Sperry of Edmond; Roy A Sperry of Caldwell ID; Edna R and Myron Earl Sperry of Kansas City MO.
    In 1920 Atha Markham Sperry, the wife of Alvia Sperry, died and Mrs. Sperry performed a mother's part in rearing his three children, Lawrence E, now of Witchita Kas.; Ivan E, Colorado Springs; and Mrs Erma Belden of Edmond. There are eight other grandchildren and nine great grandchildren."

    Twp Histories: Bethlehem created following partition pres Bucks Co Mark 1746. 1766 Taxables Nicholas Michael. Twp laid out within its limits the present Twp of Bethlehem and Upper/Lower Nazareth. The rest was barren land and considered worthless. Immediately after the Walking Purchase Sep 1737, land speculators residing in Philadelphia located some of these land warrants along the Mosroasy (?) Creek & Ranny's Run - Moravians arrived in Bethlehem 1740 - purchased Naz tract 1743 - 5000 acres & 1000 acres at Bethlehem. During Indian Wars people in country fled to town of Bethlehem & Nazareth for protection - no rcd of murder in twp.
