Jul 1955 letter from Gladys Orene (Alderwood Manor WA)to Mary Marks doc#34: "I remember hearing my father (Wm Perry Pearson) now deceased, speak of Bill Gray many times. Are you one of his daughters?.. My father has been gone from us now for about 30 yrs. He was only 64 yrs old then. He died suddenly of a stroke, being active, tho' not a well man up to within a few hours of his death. I was young then, with a house full of small children, but I have longed many times to be able to have done something for his comfort, even, give pleasure which he deserved so well. I guess he took real pleasure in his grandchildren tho', and doing for them what he could, as, we do now in ours."

NOTES: Wendell M Stark: Wm Perry Pearson and Nancy Kasia Cox, my great grandparents,
homesteaded at Westmond ID, as did my great grandparents Newton Alexander Finley and Susan Hartsaw. Wm Pearson and Nancy later purchased what was named the Pearson Hotel in the old town of Vollmer ID, which is now Craigmont. They ran this up and until their retirement.
