Elizabeth Lanham and died before 1860 in his 59th year. Was from Ill.
Living in Sturgeon TWP. Pg 563-64: Elijah S Hawkins born 30 Mar 1832 in Howard
County, Michigan, md Julia Copher and Sallie Engleman, a member of United Work-
mens Union (officer pg 575), pg 578. He was a carpenter who built hotel 3
stories tall which was blown down by a tornado, built the first building in
Sturgeon TWP supposedly, for Smith and Burks, for a store. Lived near Sturgeon
before town laid out in 1856.
"Boone Co, MO Migration and Settlement" shows Weeden, Weldon Hawkins
md to Elizabeth, born ca 1798, died 3 May 1855 in Boone County. Information
taken from ET, Will; ET, Tomb.

pg 107: "Weeden Hawkins md Elizabeth Landam in 1821 in Madison Co, KY (Mg

In the name of God amen I Elijah Hawkins of the County of Madison and
State of Kentucky being at the present under the afflicting hand of providence
and weak in body but of sound an perfect mind and memory, blessed be all
mightly God for the same and at the same time considering the uncertainty of
this mortal life do make and publish this my last will and Testament in manner
and form following, that is to say:
First it is my will and desire that as much of my property be sold as
will pay my just debts and the balance if any to remain in the hands of my
beloved wife Nancy Hawkins if any. It is further my will and desire that my
wife have the sole use and benefit of my plantation during her natural
life...or her remaining my widow and then the whold of land and what property
remains to be sold and the money arising there from to be divided as follows,
towit: My sons Weeden and John Hawkins to have Eighty Dollars each and the
Balance to be Equally Divided among my children. Nevertheless, it is my desire
that if the money can be raise to let my son Weeden have his Eighty Dollars
when he comes of age and I do appoint my son James B Hawkins and my Beloved
wife my whole and sole Executors of this my last will and testament.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fith day
of June 1815.

certify that at Cct Court held for Madison County on Monday the sixth day of
May 1816, this instrument of writing was produced in court and proven to be the
last will and testament of Elijah Hawkins, deceased, by the oath of Thomas
Poindexter, John Gressham and Lydia Gressham, witnesses thereto and ordered to
be recorded.

Irvine. The list of buyers included William Witherson, Green Kimbell, Boaz
Massey, William Rayburn, William Igo, Joseph Matoll, George Tomling, Archibald
Johns, Thomas Landham, Tomas Tugler, John Belsher, Jessee Griffeth, John
Grissom, John Bill, James Hawkins, William Ryley, Joseph Acrez. Nancy Hawkins
bought the family Bible at estate sale..

Peter Tribble for $1150...sold a certain tract of land lying in County
of Madison on the waters of Taylors Fork of Silver Creek, being part
of a preemption granted unto Lewis Brag as assigneee of Jonathon
Jennings and bounded as follows: Beg at hackberry and hickory tree on
Thorny White line now Gallon Whites Land, thence N 45 deg W 96 poles
to where a hickory, a redbud and sugartree stood as as corner in a
small bottom, thence N 45 E 162 poles to a sugar tree and hickory,
thence S 43 E 106 poles to a hickory and elm, thence S 46 W 160 poles
to beg - 100 acres.
K531: Indenture 11 Feb 1815: Elijah Hawkins and Nancy of Madison Co and
Thomas Landham of same county for $170...sold certain tract in Co of
Madison on the waters of Hines Jacks Creeks as follows: Hickory W 68
poles to sugar tree on Clays line N 16 poles to 2 elsm and sugar tree
on side of a hollow, thence up the meanders of said hollow 845 E 26
poles, thence 836 E 28 poles to a beach, thence N 67 E 42 poles to a
walnut stump, thence N 35 E 10 poles to Hackberry, head of hollow near
spring and to include spring N 84 E 32 poles to head of hollow, thence
down said hollow S 71 E 36 poles to 2 branches on a bank of branch of
mouth of said hollow, thence S 35 W 12 poles S 62 W 49 poles to elm,
thence S 42 poles to Ash, thence W 26 poles to beg - 39 acres and 13
poles of land.
