IMM: Genealogy of the Brumbaughs by G Marcus Brumbaugh, Section E pg 360: (E3) Conrad and his brother Johannes arrived at Germantown, PA 7 Oct 1765 on the ship Countess of Sussex from Rotterdam.

The author has a letter written 26 May 1888 by George Brumbaugh (grandson of Conrad) at age 86 in which he says "Conrad and Johannes came from Germany about 1765 and settled within 3 miles of Johnstown PA where David and George were born. Conrad died within 3 miles of Johnstown when I was too young to remember." A grandson of Conrad, Samuel of Perry TWP, Montgomery Co Ohio says he and his two bros came to America and from these three sprang all the Brumbaughs of Pennsylvania.
"Conrad settled in Lancaster (?) Co PA probably before 1761, as it is believed that all of his large family were born in PA, and youngest of his 13 was born 1788. After part of his children were born, he removed to Morrison's Cove but with Indian troubles he returned to the more thickly settled portions of the state. When he returned to Morrison's Cove he found the Indians in possession and they had destroyed everything he had left behind and killed all the remaining settlers. After Indian troubles were over he returned and lived here for some time, then removing to Allegheny Co PA and became one of the pioneers of that section of the state. He was well educated in Germany and taught school and became minister in the German Baptist church.
