Rebecca Ann Prather, daughter of Meshack and Elizabeth Adeline Minnis Smith, born Sullivan Co, MO near Browning 3 Mar 1842 and died 9 Aug 1934 Browning home. Age 19 married William Thomas Prather. Built a home in Linn Co MO soon after marriage and lived there til he died 1922. Seven children, 3 preceded her: Clara Alice died age 4; Mary Ellen Woolf and Lillian Grace Correll; living: Bertha Elizabeth Tomlin, Mechanicsburg IL; William Walter, Ross Estas and Ernest Fay, all Browning. Also leaves a sister Elizabeth Smith Clem, Omaha NE. Flower girls were great granddaughters Virginia Lee Stuver, Brrokfield; Caroline Swope, Jacksonville IL; and Elizabeth Ann Prather, Browning. Pallbearers were grandsons, Edwin Tomlin, Mechancisburg IL; George Prather, Browning; Warner and John Correll, Brookfield; Donald and Allen Woolf, Laredo. Burial in family cemetery near Prather home by side of husband.

Rebecca Ann Prather, widow of William T Prather and resident of Browning, Linn Co MO 11yrs 10mos, died there on Aug 9, 1934, at the age of 92yrs 5mos 6days, of Uraemia, and other causes: Dysentery, no doctor shown. She was born in Sullivan Co MO on Mar. 3, 1842, the daughter of Meshack Smith and Adalin Minnis. She was buried in Prather Cemetery on August 12, 1934 by L W Hummel, Undertaker, of Browning MO. Informant: Mr Hans Prather of Browning.

The second marriage in Linn County, Missouri, alluded to in the account of John Wain Minnis was that of Elizabeth Adaline Minnis to Meshack Smith, son of Meshack and Rebecca (Hardy) Smith. The wedding took place at the home of Capt. Minnis. The wedding service was conducted by Wm F Gibson, JP, Feb 12 1839.
