    • Greenberry Kennady Fanning,b.1805 Greene Co. Tenn,d.1864 Sumter Co. GA.[Anderson Prison ],was the grandson of John Fanning SR.[1736-1814]John is my 4th Gr.Grandfather.Greenberry is my 1st cousin 4x removed. He was in a southern prison, although from Tenn, because he was in the Home Guard, age 58, of a Unionist area.[My best guess]. I became interested in the story while looking at Find a Grave.Com. Someone actually put a stone there saying Fannon. Census takers constantly record mis-spellings also.
