ASHBY.--In Fredonia, Sunday April 5, 1903, Richard W. Ashby of a complication of diseases, aged 76 years and 20 days.
The deceased was born in Kentucky March 16, 1827. When a child his parents moved to Indiana. At the age of 21 he was married to American Lain and to this union 13 children, 7 boys and 6 girls, were born. In 1884 he moved to Kansas living here until his death. Mr. Ashby united with the Christian church 24 years ago and was a faithful member. His health has been failing for two years and he always bore his suffering patiently. Last Friday night, realizing that the end was near, he remarked that he "was ready to meet his God." A wife and eight children survive him. Funeral services were held at the Christian church Monday at 10 a.m. conducted by Rev. M.J. Duncan, and burial was made in the Koger cemetery in Talleyrand-tp.
