Thomas was born 23 April 1803 in Hillsborough, Orange County, North Carolina, the second child of Samuel Fausett (5-16) and Elizabeth Durham. On 13 February 1824 he married Anne Durham in Orange County. They had eleven children: John Samuel (7-5-57), Mary Elizabeth (7-58), James Merritt (7-59), William Roberson (7-60), Susan Anne (7-61), Francis Jane (7-62), Thomas Malory (7-63), Ruffin Caswell P. (7-64), Nale Artelia (7-65), Emily Caroline (7-66), and Jesse Bartlett (7-67). Thomas died 26 January 1863 in Hillsborough.
