My sister, Effie, and I walked 3 miles to a country log cabin school 3 months of the year in the summer months. After some yrs, the term of school lengthened to 6 months & it was not until I was 16 that I attended a 9 months school."

1940 MARRIAGE #3: WA,Thurston Co-Olympia: George R Eads md Mrs. Nell Dickinson on Sep 30, 1940 [whom I had known at Fossil in the early days of my ministry].
1945 HIST: Hist of the Eads Family, pg 8: "At this writing our country is at war with Germany & Japan & our boys, Robert Eads in Navy & Robert Dickenson is in the Army, serving their country. Chester served in the Air Corps 16 months & then given a medical discharge. June 25, 1945--Since the foregoing history was written, word has been received that Robert Ennes Eads had been killed in action in the vicinity of Philippines." (Mary wrote in the margin: "27 May 1945 off the shore of Okinawa")
1948 DEATH: WA,Mason Co-Shelton: George R Eads died 28 [or 29] Apr 1948
1955 HIST: March 1955 letter in Eads box from Mary Gray Marks to Chester Asbury Eads, doc#70: "The one [history] Geo Eads wrote-he got all his information from his older brothers. He lived in northern Idaho and Washington among them."
