See page 492 for the beginning of this record. 1) John Middleton of San Francisco and Charles Bouttier were partners of the Trinidad & San Jose Silver Mining Company. 2) Leopoldo Bouttier was the superintendent of the Trinidad & San Jose Silver Mining Company. 3) Leopoldo was maltreated and abused as a prisoner. 4) Leopoldo was made prisoner because he was French. 5) Leopoldo died from the effects of his imprisonment. 6) Carlos Galen learned this information from Mexican officers.
