  		1850-1851 Probate for August Sigfreid Dubuque County, Iowa 6 Sep 1850 August Sigfreid, late of Dubuque County, died in August last intestate. His wife died on the same day, leaving several children. Harvey Thompson appointed administrator. 10 Sep 1850 An inventory of August's personal and real estate was taken. His land: E 1/2 of SW 1/4 and SE of NW 1/4 in Section 20 of Township 90 in Range 2E. August left behind 6 orphan children. 20 Jun 1851 Much of August Sigfried's personal property was sold at public sale for $251.95. The administrator reserved 1 cow and calf and other smaller items for Mrs Gardner [Gorins], the grandmother of the children, who was maintaining the 2 youngest children. The administrator had to pay $93.20 for the maintenance of the children, funeral costs, and other expenses regarding August's real and personal estate. Payment has been given to Mrs. Gorins, the grandmother of the children, for taking care of 2 children. Oct 1856 The administrator made a final report on the estate of August Siegfried. 29 Oct 1856 Catherine Gorins, administrator of the estate of John Gorins, paid $170.28 to the estate of August Siegfried.
