Thirty years ago, Mr. F. removed from New London, Conn. with his young family and fixed his permanent home in this county. He was well and widely known in this region, and he ever retained the respect and confidence of the community in which he lived. Thus are passing from our midst the early settlers. Like the primeval oaks that greeted them on their arrival to their wilderness home, the old pioneers are falling one by one around us, yet the remembrance of their hardy virtues will be kept forever green in the memory of those who have been protected by their fortitude and are now enjoying the rich?? of the toil and suffering rendered by the early emigrants.
